Cambridge Radio Telescope and Grote Reber Museum

The University of Tasmania’s School of Mathematics and Physics invites Rotary Clubs to visit the Cambridge Radio Telescope and Grote Reber Museum.

There is no set time for visiting and this can be arranged to suit the convenience of the Club. The admission is $4 per person and is payable on confirmation of the tour. Parking is free, toilets are available at the museum and all areas are wheelchair accessible.

Here is the chance for members to learn why the telescope is so big, how it works, what’s it for, why it’s painted white and what it sees. Features of the museum are the “whispering dishes” and the “Virtual Reality Theatre”
