Mellissa HARVEY

I grew up in Cygnet in the Huon Valley, my senior schooling completed in Hobart.

My Nursing career began at the Royal Hobart Hospital followed by Midwifery training and a Degree in Applied Science Nursing.

I have worked as a nurse for 50 years, predominantly at the R.H.H.

I coordinated the advent of Day Surgery at the RHH and for the last 25 years I have worked Night Duty as an After Hours Manager.

I have 3 adult children, a midwife, a real estate consultant and the Tasmanian Junior Chess Coordinator.

My interests included tennis and Squash and now Dragon Boat paddling and Golf as well as bush walking and gardening.

I joined the Rotary Club of Salamanca Sunrise in 2014 and have held the positions of Secretary and President also Group 1 AG and Chair of RYPEN. My current roles include District Chair of Australian Health and Southern Peace Pole Coordinator.

I have enjoyed meeting President elects at the recent PELDS workshop and look forward to working with the RCG members into the new Rotary year.

I will be attending an orientation workshop for incoming Rotary Community leaders in preparation for our first workshop will be held at the Claremont RSL on Sunday 22nd June from 10 -12.

I invite all Presidents and President Elects to participate in planning our way forward into the new Rotary year.
